style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>1928\u5e74\uff0c\u5e7e\u4f4d\u6709\u5c6c\u9748\u773c\u5149\u7684\u4e2d\u570b\u5a66\u5973\u548c\u5e7e\u4f4d\u76f8\u540c\u4eba\u6578\u7684\u50b3\u9053\u4eba\uff0c\u767c\u8d77\u5275\u8fa6\u4e2d\u83ef\u795e\u5b78\u9662\uff0c\u5c07\u795e\u7684\u8a71\u8a9e\uff0c\u6559\u8a13\u53d7\u904e\u6559\u80b2\u7684\u4e2d\u570b\u5973\u5b50\uff0c\u8a13\u7df4\u5979\u5011\u5728\u795e\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u4e0a\u6709\u4efd\u3002<\/p>\n<p>1929\u5e74\uff0c\u7562\u8def\u5f97\u6559\u58eb\u8207\u5341\u4f4d\u611b\u4e3b\u59ca\u59b9\uff0c\u4e2d\u897f\u5404\u534a\uff0c\u540c\u5fc3\u5408\u610f\u805a\u96c6\u4e00\u540c\u8feb\u5207\u79b1\u544a\uff0c\u912d\u91cd\u5730\u5f9e\u795e\u63a5\u53d7\u8a17\u4ed8\uff0c\u5275\u8fa6\u4e00\u6240\u4fe1\u4ef0\u7d14\u6b63\u7684\u9ad8\u7d1a\u5973\u5b50\u795e\u5b78\u9662\uff0c\u4ee5\u4e09\u4f4d\u4e00\u9ad4\u771f\u795e\u70ba\u9996\uff0c\u4ee5\u8056\u7d93\u70ba\u4e3b\u8981\u8ab2\u7a0b\uff0c\u4ee5\u8056\u9748\u70ba\u6559\u5e2b\uff0c\u5728\u5404\u65b9\u9762\u9020\u5c31\u5b78\u751f\uff0c\u6210\u70ba\u795e\u5408\u7528\u7684\u5668\u76bf\uff0c\u6559\u54e1\u5b78\u751f\u4e00\u540c\u9818\u53d7\u4e3b\u6069\uff0c\u4e00\u540c\u89c0\u770b\u795e\u69ae\u8000\u7684\u4f5c\u70ba\u3002<\/p>\n<p>1930\u5e743\u67085\u65e5\uff0c\u773e\u4eba\u5728\u8feb\u5207\u79b1\u544a\u5f8c\uff0c\u5c31\u7d44\u7e54\u4e86\u9996\u5c46\u8463\u4e8b\u6703\uff0c\u8209\u66f9\u5b6b\u7d20\u99a8\u592b\u4eba\u70ba\u6703\u9577\uff0c\u7562\u8def\u5f97\u6559\u58eb (Ruth M. Brittain)\uff0c\u674e\u7f8e\u7433\u6559\u58eb\uff08Mary A. Leaman\uff09\uff0c\u8521\u8607\u5a1f\u5973\u58eb\uff08Christina Tsai\uff09\uff0c\u8881\u7389\u745b\u5973\u58eb\uff0c\u9673\u6bd3\u6e58\u5973\u58eb\uff0c\u660e\u7f8e\u9e97\u6559\u58eb (Mary Culler White)\uff0c\u5b89\u6c5d\u6148\u6559\u58eb(Ruth Paxon)\uff0c\u5167\u5730\u6703\u7518\u5bf6\u6069\u6559\u58eb\uff08Margaret King\uff09\uff0c\u8523\u77f3\u5982\u7389\u5973\u58eb\uff0c\u548c\u502a\u980c\u5fb7\u5973\u58eb\u7b49\u70ba\u8463\u4e8b\u3002\u5c07\u4e2d\u83ef\u795e\u5b78\u9662\u4ea4\u8a17\u65bc\u795e\u7684\u624b\u4e2d\uff0c\u7576\u65e5\u5ba3\u544a\u5b78\u6821\u6b63\u5f0f\u6210\u7acb\u3002\u8499\u4e3b\u6069\u52a9\uff0c\u53c8\u611f\u52d5\u4f59\u6148\u5ea6\u6559\u58eb\u7684\u5fc3\uff0c\u5c07\u5176\u623f\u7522\u548c\u571f\u5730\u5949\u737b\u4f5c\u795e\u5b78\u9662\u9662\u5740\u3002\u9019\u6240\u4e0d\u5206\u5b97\u6d3e\uff0c\u4e0d\u5206\u516c\u6703\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u6c92\u6709\u5dee\u6703\u80cc\u666f\u7684\u7368\u7acb\u5973\u5b50\u795e\u5b78\u9662\uff0c\u5f97\u65bc1930\u5e749\u670817\u65e5\u5728\u4e0a\u6d77\u5e02\u90ca\u6c5f\u7063\u93ae\u5efa\u7acb\u8d77\u4f86\uff1b1938\u5e74\u589e\u8a2d\u53d6\u9304\u7537\u751f\uff0c\u5f9e\u6b64\u6539\u540d\u70ba\u4e2d\u83ef\u795e\u5b78\u9662\u30021939\u5e74\uff0c\u5b78\u9662\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u65b0\u6fa4\u897f\u5dde\u8a3b\u518a\u70ba\u4e00\u9593\u975e\u725f\u5229\u4e4b\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u6559\u80b2\u6a5f\u69cb\u3002<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13169 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/cbs.org.hk\/cbs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/AboutHistory_pic04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cbs.org.hk\/cbs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/AboutHistory_pic04-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/cbs.org.hk\/cbs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/AboutHistory_pic04.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1950\u5e742\u6708\uff0c\u9662\u9577\u7562\u8def\u5f97\u6559\u58eb\u8499\u795e\u6307\u5f15\uff0c\u5ba3\u544a\u5b78\u9662\u505c\u8fa6\u3002\u5b78\u9662\u4e4b\u7562\u696d\u751f\u5206\u4f48\u4e2d\u570b\u5404\u7701\u5e02(\u897f\u85cf\u9664\u5916)\u53ca\u6d77\u5916\u5730\u5340\uff0c\u5728\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u74b0\u5883\u4e2d\u70ba\u4e3b\u50b3\u63da\u798f\u97f3\uff0c\u9020\u5c31\u4fe1\u5f92\u3002<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-column content-box-column content-box-column content-box-column-2 col-lg-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12 fusion-content-box-hover content-box-column-last content-box-column-last-in-row\"><div class=\"col content-box-wrapper content-wrapper link-area-link-icon icon-hover-animation-fade\" style=\"background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);\" data-animationOffset=\"100%\"><div class=\"heading icon-left\"><h2 class=\"content-box-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px;line-height:23px;\">Chapter One (1930-1950) Founding of our Seminary in Shanghai<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>In 1928, several Chinese ladies and pastors, guided by their spiritual foresight, initiated the idea of founding China Bible Seminary, aiming to teach the Word of God to educated Chinese women, and train them to become ministers of God.<\/p>\n<p>In 1929, Miss Ruth Brittain and ten devoted Christian ladies of Chinese and Western background, got together and prayed fervently.\u00a0 They were solemnly entrusted by God to establish a Seminary of sound faith for educated Chinese women.\u00a0 Our Seminary, headed by the only true Triune God, with the Bible as the main curriculum, the Holy Spirit as teacher, was to strengthen students in all areas to become instruments useful to God, so that teachers and students receiving the grace of our Lord, might witness the glory of God.<\/p>\n<p>On March 3, 1930, after praying earnestly, they formed the first Board of Directors, Mrs. Cao Sun Su Xin was elected as the Chair-lady, Miss Ruth M. Brittain, Miss Mary A. Leaman, Miss Christina Tsai, Miss Yuan Yu-Ying, Miss Chen Yu-Xiang, Miss Mary Culler White, Miss Ruth Paxon, China Inland Mission\u2019s Miss Margaret King, Mrs. Jiang Shi Ru-Yu, and Miss Ni Song-De as Board Members.\u00a0 Committing China Bible Seminary to the hands of God, the Board announced the inauguration of our Seminary.\u00a0 This independent women\u2019s Bible seminary, nondenominational, nonunion, and not supported by any missionary organization, was set up on 17 September 1930 in Shanghai Jiang-wan. In 1938, male students were also admitted and our Seminary from then was formally named as China Bible Seminary.\u00a0 In 1939, our Seminary was registered as a non-profit Christian Education Organization in New Jersey, U.S.A.<\/p>\n<p>The campus in Jiang-wan was built on a land donated by a devoted Christian lady, Miss Dora Yu Ci-Du.\u00a0 Classes were offered between 1930-1950, even as the country went through the second World War.<\/p>\n<p>In February 1950, under the guidance of God, President Miss Ruth Brittan announced the closing of our Seminary.\u00a0 The graduates of our Seminary later spread to all provinces of China (except Tibet region) and overseas.\u00a0 No matter where they were, our graduates continued to proclaim the gospel and strengthen class=\"content-box-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px;line-height:23px;\">Chapter Two (1964-2004) Reinstatement of our Seminary in Hong Kong<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>In the summer of 1962, some faculty members who resided in Hong Kong started Bible Classes and Bible Study Fellowship respectively to equip Church volunteers and to nurture spiritual lives of lay Christians.\u00a0 These classes were met with enthusiasm where most participants were young Christians.\u00a0 The Bible classes used the study methods of Miss Audrey Wetherell Johnson, who later founded BSF International.<\/p>\n<p>In September 1964, by the wondrous grace of God, our Seminary\u2019s ministry was restored in Hong Kong and the Board of Directors was established to manage the development of our Seminary in Hong Kong.\u00a0 The campus and student dormitory were located in Tsim Sha Tsui.\u00a0 In 1968, China Bible Seminary in Hong Kong graduated the first group of Diploma students.\u00a0 In 1973, our Seminary restructured the Bible Study Fellowship and Bible Classes into a Bible Evening School, aiming to teach the Bible and other practical subjects systematically.\u00a0 These classes were welcomed by both local Church leaders and lay Christians.<\/p>\n<p>In June 1978, our Seminary had its first batch of Bachelor of Theology graduates.\u00a0 In September 1987, in addition to Bachelor\u2019s courses, our Seminary started Certificate Course in Biblical Studies, which aimed to nurture dedicated Christians, facilitating them to participate in Church ministry effectively and to witness Christ in their workplace.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-column content-box-column content-box-column content-box-column-3 col-lg-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12 fusion-content-box-hover content-box-column-last-in-row\"><div class=\"col content-box-wrapper content-wrapper link-area-link-icon icon-hover-animation-fade\" style=\"background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);\" data-animationOffset=\"100%\"><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>\u6b64\u5f8c\uff0c\u5b78\u9662\u56e0\u61c9\u6642\u4ee3\u7684\u9700\u8981\uff0c\u75311995\u5e74\u81f32000\u5e74\u9593\uff0c\u589e\u8a2d\u8056\u7d93\u7814\u7a76\u526f\u5b78\u58eb\u8ab2\u7a0b\u3001\u6559\u7267\u5b78\u78a9\u58eb\u548c\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u7814\u7a76\u78a9\u58eb\u8ab2\u7a0b\u3002\u5c07\u57f9\u80b2\u7684\u5c64\u9762\uff0c\u7531\u8499\u53ec\u5168\u8077\u4e8b\u5949\u8005\uff0c\u5ef6\u4f38\u81f3\u5728\u8077\u50b3\u9053\u4eba\u548c\u4e00\u822c\u6709\u5fd7\u5e36\u8077\u4e8b\u5949\u7684\u4fe1\u5f92\u3002\u9662\u5740\u65b9\u9762\uff0c\u5247\u65bc1996\u5e74\u7531\u5c16\u6c99\u5480\u6f06\u54b8\u9053\u9077\u81f3\u5c16\u6c99\u5480\u4e9e\u58eb\u5398\u9053\u30022001\u5e742\u6708\u5728\u6f22\u53e3\u9053\u53e6\u5916\u8cfc\u8cb7\u4e00\u500b\u9762\u7a4d\u7d04\u4e09\u767e\u9918\u5e73\u65b9\u7c73\uff08\u6216\u4e09\u4edf\u9918\u5e73\u65b9\u82f1\u544e\uff09\u7684\u55ae\u4f4d\uff0c\u5c08\u4f5c\u5716\u66f8\u9928\u4e4b\u7528\uff0c\u4f7f\u5b78\u751f\u5f97\u5230\u66f4\u5927\u7684\u7a7a\u9593\u81ea\u4fee\u548c\u95b1\u8b80\u30022002\u5e748\u6708\u8499\u795e\u6069\u5178\u9810\u5099\uff0c\u5728\u5716\u66f8\u9928\u5740\u4e0a\u5c64\u79df\u5f97\u5169\u55ae\u4f4d\u5206\u5225\u4f5c\u70ba\u7537\u3001\u5973\u5b78\u751f\u5bbf\u820d\u4e4b\u7528\uff0c\u8b93\u540c\u5b78\u5011\u53ef\u66f4\u5c08\u5fc3\u5411\u5b78\u3001\u4e26\u5728\u5c6c\u9748\u751f\u547d\u548c\u751f\u6d3b\u54c1\u683c\u4e0a\u5f97\u5230\u66f4\u597d\u7684\u64cd\u7df4\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u5f9e1964\u5e74\u5728\u9999\u6e2f\u5fa9\u6821\u4ee5\u4f86\uff0c\u5b78\u9662\u4e4b\u7562\u696d\u751f\uff0c\u5206\u5225\u5728\u672c\u6e2f\u4efb\u7267\u5e2b\u50b3\u9053\u3001\u795e\u5b78\u9662\u8b1b\u5e2b\u3001\u6559\u6703\u5b78\u6821\u6559\u5e2b\u3001\u6587\u5b57\u5de5\u4f5c\u8005\u3001\u798f\u97f3\u6a5f\u69cb\u540c\u5de5\uff1b\u4ea6\u6709\u9060\u8d74\u6d77\u5916\u7267\u6703\u6216\u4efb\u5ba3\u6559\u58eb\u3002<\/p>\n<p>1996\u5e744\u6708\uff0c\u9999\u6e2f\u8463\u4e8b\u6703\u5411\u9999\u6e2f\u653f\u5e9c\u8a3b\u518a\u7f72\u6b63\u5f0f\u8a3b\u518a\u70ba\u4e00\u9593\u975e\u725f\u5229\u7684\u6148\u5584\u6a5f\u69cb\u3002\u5f9e\u6b64\uff0c\u7f8e\u570b\u8463\u4e8b\u6703\u548c\u9999\u6e2f\u8463\u4e8b\u6703\u5206\u5225\u7368\u7acb\u8655\u7406\u795e\u5b78\u9662\u5728\u5317\u7f8e\u548c\u9999\u6e2f\u7684\u4e8b\u5de5\u3002<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>From 1995 to 2000, our Seminary broadened her program to include the Associate of Arts in Christian Studies, the Master of Ministry and the Master of Christian Studies to meet the needs of the society.\u00a0 Apart from preparing Christians for full-time ministry, programs were extended to provide continuing education for pastors and lay Christians in their workplace.\u00a0 As for the campus, our Seminary moved from Chatham Road to Ashley Road Tsim Sha Tsui in 1996.\u00a0 In February 2001, our Seminary bought a flat in HanKow Road.\u00a0 The flat with an area of 300 square meters (equivalent to 3,000 square feet) was assigned for library purposes, so that students had a larger area for reading and studying.\u00a0 In August 2002, by God\u2019s gracious providence, our Seminary rented two flats which were situated on an upper floor of the same building as the library, serving as dormitories for male and female students.\u00a0 Dormitory life allowed students to be more focused in their studies and facilitated their spiritual and character development.<\/p>\n<p>Since our Seminary reopened in 1964, our graduates worked in Hong Kong as pastors and teachers, seminary faculty, teachers in Christian Schools, literature ministry and evangelical organizations.<\/p>\n<p>In April 1996, the Hong Kong Board of Directors registered China Bible Seminary as a non-profit making charitable organization in the Company Registry, the Government of Hong Kong.\u00a0 From then on, the American Board of directors and the Hong Kong Board of directors operated independently to serve ministries in North America and Hong Kong respectively.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><style icon-left\"><h2 class=\"content-box-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px;line-height:23px;\">Chapter Three (2005 onwards) A New Beginning<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"color:#747474;\">\n<p>In March 2004, we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of China Bible Seminary in Hong Kong (1964-2004).\u00a0 Under the guidance of God, our Seminary announced a new start in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>In this new chapter, we designed a new logo, which consists of the character \u2018\u4e2d\u2019 (the first character of the name of our Seminary \u2018China \u4e2d\u83ef\u2019) that resembles the Cross and an opened Bible.\u00a0 The logo expresses our hearts\u2019 desire: \u201cExalt Christ and Preach the Word!\u201d\u00a0 As for the school colors, we employ dark brown and grey, which represent wood and stone respectively, the main material of the New Temple depicted in Ezekial Ch. 40-43.\u00a0 Though plain and simple, yet with the presence of God, the Temple is filled with His glory (Eze 43:1-5).\u00a0 This is to express our prayer: \u201cPursue Holiness and Serve God Wholeheartedly!\u201d \u00a0\u2018Spiritual formation\u2019 is recognized and affirmed as the main aim of our Seminary.<\/p>\n<p>We reprinted \u201cI beheld the Glory of God\u201d, written by Miss Caroline Ho in 1962, to urge our students, faculty and staff to value our prayer life.\u00a0 We revised our program and curriculum.\u00a0 We added Missions Major to our B. Th. program.\u00a0 In 2009, we implemented the Master of Divinity course, to provide continuing education opportunities for pastors.\u00a0 In 2011, we started the Bachelor of Biblical Studies in our Program for lay Christians.\u00a0 In 2015 September, we launched M. Div.
